Michael G. Dolence and Associates provides a number of tools for the postsecondary education community including an Adult Learning Calculator, a master index of institutions, and access to the IPEDS data to facilitate browsing institutional data.
The Adult Learning Calculator uses the statistical descriptions and distributions of adult learners attained in the U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics, National Household Education Surveys (NHES) together with U.S. Census Data to estimate the number of adult learners in any given geographic area. While not precise for any given geographic boundary the methodology used provides a sound estimate based on national participation rates of adults engaged in formal learning in the U.S.
The College and University Index U.S. provides the name, address, phone, fax and web address. This site does not provide statistics or contact information.
Postsecondary Education Statistics are provided by the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). IPEDS is provided by the U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics. It is the national central database of postsecondary education data collected from all primary providers of postsecondary education in the U.S. This is a great tool for fetching data.
