Over the past five years, Michael G. Dolence and Associates has worked extensively with clients to design, develop, and deploy a dramatically new strategic planning methodology for higher education, complete with a set of Internet-based systems (called ePlanedu) to fully support it. The Curriculum-Centered Strategic Planning Model provides a framework for strategic planning in higher education. In fact, it is built specifically for higher education, and centers as the name suggests, around the curriculum. It is designed to import whatever planning has already occurred in an institution avoiding the unpleasant prospect of starting over. It integrates seamlessly with accreditation self-study processes and if implemented in time, can become the core of the accreditation process. The Curriculum-Centered Strategic Planning Model can also integrate academic program review into the overall institutional strategic planning initiative providing unprecedented cohesion between academic and institutional plans. The process is designed to run continuously, refreshing itself each cycle and providing an effective communications process resulting in clear understanding among the array of institutional constituents. The Internet-based ePlanedu strategic planning system utilizes the Curriculum-Centered Strategic Planning Model to provide a comprehensive planning/assessment/accreditation integrated environment. We provide a comprehensive range of services from teaching the integrated model to full implementation including the web based support system.
